He modeled for us the rhythm of life, we work but we need to rest as well. I sometimes think we turn the volume up in our lives and our engines are revving and then we wonder why we don't hear from God. he is speaking to us but can't hear Him b/c of all of the busyness in our lives. I love a quote our Pastor shared 2 weeks ago, I can't remember the source,
"Intentionally and ruthlessly eliminate hurry from your life"! Hurry is more than just being busy, hurry is the state of our souls!

Hugs,
ConnieConstancehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15748558090320737035noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24430615.post-27904042553141047392009-10-07T07:53:08.592-04:002009-10-07T07:53:08.592-04:00Interesting observation.
It fits well with Mark ...Interesting observation.

It fits well with Mark 2:27 "The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath."

If your journey is currently filled with daily connections to Him, resting in His Word, Prayer, etc. I think you are enjoying your "Sabbaths" throughout the week.

Perhaps when we find ourselves caught up in worldly things and we start to lose sight of Him is when it's critical to reconnect ... and perhaps during those parts of the journey we need to make sure we take a day aside for Him.

Ever read the book "Practicing the Presence of God"? ... I wonder if someone as connected to Him on a minute by minute basis like brother Lawrence observed the Sabbath ... I would love to hear his perspective because he was in constant connection with Him throughout the day.

Thanks for sharingMatthew Gasperonihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14492467760748615196noreply@blogger.com
