Lessons in the Garden with Margie: Growth

It's never more abundantly clear than in the garden to see growth!  Seems appropriate, right?

Today I pulled out the work bench that we brought up from the basement in the workroom when we moved here.  That thing was so heavy!

I've decided to make a potting station in the garage and make it an organized cute area!  It's a great idea...  who knows how it will turn out, but I am going to strive for it!  The person I was years ago probably would have ordered a cute potting station but the person I am now...  I'm going to clean it off and paint it white and move it back in the garage.  I can't wait to see how it all turns out.

That means I really needed to do some purging in the garage!  I cleaned off some shelves, donated things that aren't needed, and was pretty grossed out when one of my non-paying rent critters met their destiny 💀- that I had no idea was "hiding" in a trap.  I can surely say that I am getting braver about their "evictions".  I also found 3 more walnuts they had stashed had they made it all winter.  It feels so good to get things cleaned up ready for spring/summer/harvest!

I decided to check on the winter sowing.  There was no way that anything was going to be growing... NO way...  but...  LO AND BEHOLD!!!!!!  The babies are growing!  the thyme and borage are growing!

Most people don't know much about borage but it's a super pollinator!  And you know how I love a cute bee butt!  🐝. The real reason I planted it is because it is a natural best friend for tomatoes because it keeps away tomato horn beetles (aka little a-holes). I didn't squeal but I will tell you I was pretty excited! and the thyme is starting to pop through the dirt!  You can read about borage here

I really can't wait until the spring and summer!  I think great things are ahead!
