“Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”- Matthew 19:14
I love this verse. When I think of it, I don't think necessarily of little children (even though I know they need to be steered toward Jesus), I think of people with child like qualities who need to come to Jesus.
I think of...
People who are helpless. They are in desperate need of someone to meet their needs, whether it be physical, emotional, or spiritual. They NEED.
Teenagers. Teenagers have so much thrown at them via their parents jacked up lives, the media. We need to get out of their way (and our own) and let them develop a relationship with Jesus. THEY NEED.
I think of you, and I think of me. I think that one of the most important things about coming to Jesus is that we need to be child-like. We need to love and trust Him like young children trust their parents. That God has control of it all, and we need not worry. I think of so many situations in my own life, that are all going on that I just need to say "God, I know You have it, I trust You to take care of it, it's all Yours". WE NEED.
I think of the desires of my heart, that I want fulfilled that I wonder "will it ever happen?" I believe (BELIEVE!) that God would not have given me those desires of my heart, if He didn't have a plan to fulfill them.
I think sometimes I hinder myself, as a great wise one once said, "I get in my own way".
Today, with child like love and trust, I'm stepping aside, I am asking that God work in me and through me.
