slowly but surely

I don't know how I managed to get out of Cedar Point without eating cheese fries, although I did have Qdoba so that probably saved me!

I did have about 3 bites of dippin' dots only to give them away. I really wanted them, waited til the end of the day and then thought "these aren't even that good" and along comes Adam to my rescue and eats them!

I'm down around 4 pounds, pretty good for about 7 or 8 days not sure because i don't have a calendar in front of me, and I was able to pass on Coldstone two days in a row when I could hear it calling my name. Funny because I don't even feel like ice cream is my biggest deal to get over, but lately it has been.

There's spinach, chicken, & veggies for lunch all week!

Gotta stay focused!!

Hello

Your blog came up randomly whilst I was google searching something else. Nevertheless, I thought I was share what I've done ever the last 6 weeks

I wouldn't want to promote this as the best, or healthiest option, but it's working for me (and at 34, battling my weight since 15, it has been a shock how much this isn't weighing on me, just feels like controlled eating)

Firstly, all this happened by accident, I was cutting down on caffiene intake by alternating coffee with peppermint tea. I wasn't even on a 'diet' here, just moderating. Then I realised the more I drank peppermint tea, the less I craved hunger. Then I looked this up, and peppermint is a natural hunger suppressent, as well as aiding digestion

That sparked me into an old diet, but this time with added ingredients/imagination. My old diet is soup based. A tin of soup is 200kcals. This time I added a lot of frozen veg to it. Microvwaved on 2nd highest heat setting for 7 minutes. Then mixed in turkey cubes I'd cut up previously. Then another 7 minutes. I added tabasco (in case you find the smell of tinned food a little off putting)

That meal is about 400-500kcals, and covers everything. I call it a poor mans hotpot. The great thing about it is, there's all flvavours of soup now, curry, chilli con carne, veg, meaty, spicy. You can cover your cravings for other foods here, without feeling one meal is going to be massively over 1000kcals.

If I'm in a rush, I sometimes just have the frozen veg and turkey cubes mixed in. All of about 100kcals. That can be just enough to boost your day, and you know it's all the right foods, and low fat

Snacking? I buy a big bag of mixed fruit (sultanas, raisins etc). They are high in calorie, but low in fat. But, all I do here, is have a handful every so often. I'm not one for breakfast, but I have a quick handful in the morning. I'm testing the theory of keeping your metabolism going. I have a cereal bar at lunch, which as alwas been my convenience and affordable working lunch. I take a multivitamin pill with that

For further snacking, I have bananas and pears. If you cut them up, it's much more fun than just eating them quickly, you savour the fact you sliced them up, and enjoy it

On other days, I buy fresh prawns, and chop up a cucumber and have a punnet of cherry tomatoes. that's about 300kcals. It will fill you up, but it's a lot of water based food. (I suppose the salt content in prawns isn't the greatest of advice)

In all, at present, that's about 1000 kcals a day. I will plan to eat more when I get near the weight I want to be. I'm 6t 2. I started this 6 weeks ago at 20st 5lbs. I'm now 18st 10lbs.

I understand the starvation mode theory, which is why I will eat more in future. But I like to think I'm chugging away nicely with even this, but the regular intake of mixed fruit, to send the message to my body that I'm eating regularly

Apologies this is long, or maybe something you don't want to do, but you might enjoy knowing about the peppermint fact. People who I've said it too, say it's another reason to brush your teeth more, because it will suppress your hunger levels from the taste of minte

Best of luck
