The Journey of Grief: Treasures

At one point in life my dad could really cook.  Made the best breakfast.

If you've ever had my breakfast potatoes - I learned them from my dad.  My dad made THE BEST hash browns.   Sometimes I just have a hankering for hash browns and eggs - often I serve them with cottage cheese (that's an addition in the last few years).

My dad only really liked Bob Evans sausage and while I will tell you that you can eat any breakfast sausage, Bob Evans is worth spending a little extra on...  But it's not necessary.

When my dad died we went through his things and one of the treasures was this egg holder.  Funny I've purchased others but never really liked that much.  I mean how different can they be?

I don't know but I love pulling this egg holder out when I make breakfast or bake.  But I love it and because I often buy (or am gifted) a dozen or two and it's no nice to store a larger quantity of eggs at a time without taking up a lot of room in the fridge.

I've had a slower Sunday morning (I packed the car last night) and it was nice to make a Sunday breakfast.

It was nice to be reminded me of the good things about my dad.
