Goals! bike riding!

A few years ago I visited my friend in TC and we went on a bike ride.  I honestly hadn't ridden a bike in YEARS!  Maybe even decades!  I was very nervous that I was going to fall!

We went and it was really fun!  Even though I was literally scared the whole time.

and guess what?

That fear I had?

of falling...

I fell!  And I didn't die!

I got up and finished the ride.

Then last year I rode a bike in Miami and the boardwalk was really busy, and I was so afraid.  I was afraid of falling, hurting someone, hurting myself, looking stupid.  I witnessed to homeless people fighting and I thought I was gonna get hit.  It was scary.  But guess what?  I didn't fall!  I didn't get hurt, didn't crash into anyone.

I will admit, I took a less populated way home.  I said I had to get a tea, and I did, but that was my excuse LOL

I dream of going to TC and riding bikes with my friend and her family, but I'm nervous!  But I decided that since I have a stationary bike in my basement, I would train.  I would begin biking a few times a week to work the muscles that I will need to ride bikes.  Once I get moving, I will start to do some rides using the Peloton app.

Not all goals need to be serious.  Sometimes a goal of something fun like saving for a vacation and planning can lead to some really great things!

In my case, I am bringing back something in my life that I used to love.  When I was a kid, riding bikes gave me such freedom.  I would get on my bike and visit my friends. Me and my friend would watch our friends play basketball or I'd just hang out at her house.  When I was in my early teens I would ride my bike to my friend Erica's house and spend all day there.  It was the best and I have so many memories.

It's fun to have this goal and adventure to continue moving.

Now I need to get new bike tires.  LOL

Happy Trails!
