LITGWM: Paradox

I am learning that it is possible to want two contrary things at once.  I want nothing to change. I want everything to change

I have been doing some winter sowing.  Hands in the dirt.  It helps me to make it to spring without losing my mind.

I love winter. I love the peacefulness of it.  I love the glistening snow.

When I see the footprints in the snow I wonder what little critters are hopping around the backyard.  I love the rest of winter.  There isn't a lot to do to gardens in the winter.

I love to see the seeds on the plants that I left in the snow as the birds have knocked them off the dark brown stalks.  When the snow was on the ground I could see their sweet little foot prints in the snow.

in the same way as I am excited for winter and the calmness it brings I cannot wait for spring.  The newness.

Each day that I take a walk in the spring, first it's the crocus, then the tulips and daffodils.  With each bud a new excitement of what will come this summer and excitement of the harvest.

Today I put in a new garden bed and I am dreaming of the summer's harvest.

Tomorrow I will plant more flower seeds to plant more beauty in the ground this summer!

It was good to spend some time outside dreaming about what is next!
