Lessons from the Pool

I don't pretend to be ok these days.  I am not a pretender.  besides, my dang face gives me away every time.  Every.time.

There are a few things to which that I am certain....

    1.  God will never leave me nor forsake me

    2.  I have survived 100% of my hardest days.

In October I started going to the pool.  I'd walk in "the bean" which is kind of like a lazy river... but for walking.  One day I thought I'd go swim some laps only to discover I could not complete not a one.

So I set out with a plan...  I started kicking 2 minutes and then 3 up to 5.  I started swimming in an area that is about 1/2 of the length of the pool.  and I built up from there.  and then eventually I started swimming laps!  what! I started building up up up!

and one day last week I swam 30 laps!  I could hardly believe it.

I was swimming and contemplating some things I have going on and I started thinking about the last two years, the last 5 years, and how all that I learned and worked on lead me to where I am today.  We don't get strong over night, it takes work but before we know it, we are HERE.  Wherever that is for you.

So as I gird up my loins to take on another week, I will remember the lessons I've taken from the pool!

I'm...

strong

brave

kind

thoughtful

smart

wise

discerning

and so much more...
