LITGWM: What's below the surface?

I was planting garlic today and I found myself in the dirt and the sunshine for a quick lunch break today.

This summer I planted potatoes and it's crazy but I just threw some pieces of potato with some eyes on them and after a hot summer, I dug them up... and bam! potatoes.

and this is the time of year that garlic is planted.

Gardening is crazy to me sometimes!  I plant these tiny little seeds and then before I know it, there is a vegetable, then another one.  It's just absolutely amazing to me.

I was thinking about how in our lives there is so much that goes on below the surface.  how much growing and how it's important to be surrounded by the best things.  Good things don't grow in bad soil.

The thing about soil is that it can be used over and over again, but somehow it needs to be replenished.  Add compost or fertilizer.

I really love gardening, it's a reflection of me too and I learn so much about myself.

The other day I saw a quote that said "Nature was never meant to be tidy. The more we try to control her, the less we remember what she's teaching us. That beauty isn't in perfection, it's in participation."  Even today when things were starting to brown and things are winding down in the garden, there is so much beauty in it.  It felt so good to get in there, clean up and planting things.

Planting Hope whether it's in the spring or the summer is hope.

This year I am going to do more intentional gardening.  Planning the layouts instead of haphazardly planting.  I can't wait to see how it all comes out!
