Yesterday I had a hankering for some good bread. I started to walk over to the bakery department and just thought "you don't have to buy bread anymore, you can make it"
It sounds ridiculous but I love making things from scratch. It saves money and in my opinion, it tastes better.
On Sundays I've been slowing down, and taking care of things at home. Today feels like a dream that I can pack my swim bag and work bag and even my lunches instead of a suitcase.
I planned out some more of the garden, made bread, and cleaned the house. Which was needed since I did winter sowing in the house and had dirt every where LOL
It feels good to slow down, spend time in the place I've made peaceful and cozy.
The thing about slowing down, I have been able to see clearly when something happens and I make decisions and I stick to them.
Yesterday when I woke up I discovered that my battery was dead - low cranking power. Considering it's the original batter for a 6.5 year old car, I can't be made. The cool thing was that the guy was able to put in a new battery in so I was able to wait from the comfort of my home and I didn't have to wait in a shop for a new battery.
I ran errands all day and everything was fine. I went and dropped off a meal for some friends at BH, talked with Pastor Crystal and went out to my car... COMPLETELY dead. Not a crank issue... dead.
So I went to the link and set up an appt for them to send someone to check my battery... 2 HOURS! and then all of a sudden I got a next "you're the next stop" less than 20 minutes. Turns out the first guy didn't connect the battery grounds all the way! I was thankful that I was safe and warm while I waited. AND.... that it was an easy fix.
Had I been all wound up, I probably would have flown off the handle and said something I didn't mean.
Simplicity is bringing peace and calm.
And I am loving it.
