Question of the day: What do you wish someone said to you every day?

This one made me laugh a little.

  • Let's go on trip!
  • I made breakfast
  • I love you the most
  • I'm thankful for you

These were some of my top thoughts.... But I think if I wrote about those things it would be easy but not a funny story.... so the winner is:

I'll make the bed!

yes that's right.

I hate making the bed.  I apparently hate a lot of chores. Emptying the silverware thing in the dishwasher - so much so that most times I just run it until I am out of forks and then... I empty the whole thing - don't judge me! It's hard taking care of a house and working and a garden and.... and sometimes I do empty it but that does happen.

I have hated making the bed since I was a little kid. I'd always think "it's gonna get messed up anyway" and I'd make it when I changed the sheets but the every day...  undisciplined.  I do it now, actually started during covid to bring normalcy to my life.  Which looking back ~seems like an unnatural thing to do - do something I hardly ever did to bring normalcy.  All I can say is it was a crazy time in the world.

When I was a little kid, I'd go stay at my Aunt and Uncle's house in Niles.  I think I'd go for 2-3 weeks but it sometimes seemed like the whole summer.  I missed my dad and friends when I was there even though it was fun!  And I watched Soap Operas and I'm pretty sure I could miss a whole year and catch right back up!  GH was my favorite.  My aunt insisted (she made me!) make the bed every day. I HATED IT.  so you know what I did? I slept on top of the comforter so I didn't have to make the bed.  True story.  she'd laugh.    and then one day, the best thing anyone could have every said to me...  "You're just like your mom, she did the same thing!"  That made me so happy.  I never knew my mom so being like her in any way, was a badge of honor!

I hope someone says something to you every day that makes your heart leap for joy or snuggle in.
