LITGWM: Cold weather & rest

I hate cold weather.  I never used to like winter.  I actually like it now.  And truth be told, I like to shovel snow.  not when it's 10lbs to the square inch but when it's fluffy and sparkly, that's my favorite.  Even in the winter, God has something to teach me in the garden.

I hate the cold weather... I have to wear shoes, socks, AND.A.COAT.

but I do know that when the weather is really cold, the ground rests.  Rest is good.  I often feel like a two year old who doesn't want to take a nap when it's nap time.  I do love a good nap though.  I'd like to take one every day if I could.  I just don't like long term rest, even though I know it's good for me.

my excuse:  there's always something that needs to be done.  I walked around my house and thought, I've got to get that done, and that done...  Christmas is 11 days away.  Shopping/wrapping is the easiest thing about getting ready for Christmas.

I used to think I had to earn rest, get everything done and THEN I can rest but you know what? Nothing ever gets finished. There is always something to do. So there has to be a way to balance it all.I just am not sure how to do that

This winter I will do more planning and writing/plotting out where I am going to plant.  Pots of beautiful herbs.  bright pops of color.  vibrant greens and even some muted ones.

Hummingbird feeders.  Raspberry trellis.

I love the rest for the ground.  For myself, I am working on learning to enjoy it for myself.  If it's good enough for dirt then it's good enough for me 😇

This week... organized seeds for a step towards having an organized winter sowing experience and spring!  I get my seeds from MIGARDENER (so many great seeds and a great value).
