Worship Wednesday

Do you have someone in your life that somehow you lived most of it without them, but now can't imagine a day without them?

I'm lucky to have a bunch of them, they are my Metro Family. Jim & Tonya, The Smith Family (D,S,J,& M), etc. The last one is the craziest bunch.

If you know Sara you know just how awesome she is. She's gorgeous, witty, brilliant, wise, and when she loves you, whew! there's nothing like it. You know you can count on her to listen, to tell you when you are just plain being an idiot, you can count on her to make you laugh, and eat coney's with you while you cry. And sometimes, she just sits there waiting for you to tell her what's really bothering you, and when you don't, she's ok with that. I don't know how I got to be so lucky to be her sister, and I have no idea what she did that was so terrible to get a little sister like me.

She's got this husband. He's funny and you know if there isn't something right in Sara's life, it's probably going to get blamed on him. He's not nearly as perfect as she is (HA!) but he's pretty awesome himself. As a single woman (mom), I tend to steer clear of married men. It may sound nuts but so many times I have been accused of things that never even entered my mind but apparently they entered the minds of others, but folks, that's not why we are here today. Dean is like my brother, I guess, maybe brother in law since she's my sister. I love to watch Dean worship. I know it sounds nuts but when you see him up there, you just can't help but get into the music a little more.

Lately I have been in a pit, a pretty deep one. Partly threw myself in there, and partly got pushed. I was a basket case for a couple of days. Then Sunday came, and it seems that you just can't help but rejoice on Easter. God used Dean on Sunday, maybe even without Dean knowing about it. We sang a new song. "Mighty to Save" by Hillsong. Maybe to some, it was just a song. But to me, it wasn't just a song. It was the words that my heart needed to sing before it new it needed to sing them.

I almost knocked Dean over trying to get to him to find out the name of that song (I even forgot to wish him Happy Easter). I get to church pretty early on Sundays because I can't stand to be late for church, so I am always greeted by Dean. It's a wierd thing about Dean, you just know he's glad to see you by his smile. Sometimes I get to church, and in my own crazy mind I think that probably no one cares one way or another that I am there. But Dean always has this way of making you feel welcome.

He's just that way. He makes you feel like you matter, with that crazy grin of his. I'm thankful for him.

It's nice to have brothers.

Here's the new song, it's my new favorite. The Metro band does it better (but don't tell Hillsong, it might hurt their feelings)! I already had the CD (so typical of me).

Mighty to Save by Hillsong
Everyone needs compassion
A love that's never failing
Let mercy fall on me
Everyone needs forgiveness
A kindness of a Savior
The hope of nations
Savior
He can move the mountains
My God is Mighty to save
He is Mighty to save
ForeverAuthor of salvation
He rose and conquered the grave
Jesus conquered the grave
So take me as You find me
All my fears and failures
Fill my life again
I give my life to follow
Everything i believe in
Now i surrender
Shine your light and let the whole world see
We're singing for the glory of the risen King...Jesus

Matthew 28:6 He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.
