I want...

I was listening to WMUZ this morning. For only a minute to be honest because I get a toothache from that station in the morning and the afternoon... it's too sweet. I don't mean any disrespect, it's just not my thing.

I miss Rhonda. Everyday when I hit the button, even though I know she won't be there, I wish she was. You know why? because she was real and raw.

There is a song that we sing at church "Mighty to Save" often it is a constant ringing in my brain. Today MUZ played it by some really "churchy" singing woman. BLEC!!! I tried, I kept telling myself it's about the words not about the sound, worship is not about music its about your heart in ALL you do.

I subscribe to this crazy thing... if you don't like something and you think it should be better... DO SOMETHING besides complaining. Seriously. if a counter needs wiping, don't complain, wipe it. If something doesn't run the way you think it should be run, help, make suggestions and be a part of the change.

So I wrote a letter. I don't expect that they change their programming, I bet a lot of people don't think it's too sweet, but I want a station that reaches teenagers and college age students. I want a place where they can hear about real life and ways that they won't fall trappings to this world, where struggles are abound but Jesus rules and He saves. Put your faith in Him, it's all there is. I don't want them to turn to 89X, 95.5, or 96.3, I want them to turn to Jesus. I want songs of all kinds, rap, rock, all Christian, local youth bands, local youth group bands, all the time. The gifts are given by God, let's use them AND BE BLESSED BY THEM!

It's more than a want, it's a need. People invest in the lives of teenagers on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, and I am tired of the world undoing with unlove what we do in love. Ok, I said it.

I want them to be able to have a place to listen to God before school, after school, while hanging out with Christian friends, with non-Christian friends. Being Christian doesn't mean you're uncool or you don't have fun, it means you love Christ. It means your fun is had and there aren't consequences.

Please pray for this. And please continue to pray for this generation.
Psalm 28:7 The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song.

You know Chad and I have said that 1000 times. I don't hate the morning show but the afternoon show makes me want to vomit. Seriously. I think I may write a letter as well, it has went through my mind so many times. I pray you have started change for the kids (and us) in our area.

did you get a response? and have you tried that other wmuz station on, what's is called...., dh radio?? no, hd radio. Sure good idea to put another station on the airways but you can only have a special type of radio to get-and do the children have to all purchase a new radio???
Economy, food vs radio; here, let me think about that for a monent!
love you, beau- oops-love you!
