A week in a life...

Monday I should have come home and did a whole bunch of stuff, but instead I stopped for a much needed visit and then had dinner with a friend, got the Metro Alive/Fuel Laptop and picked up Phyllis. No progress made on my list of things to do.

Yesterday that meant that I had to get a bunch of stuff to do... I hit the wall about 10:30, there is really only so much one can do after working all day. I did manage to get the bake made, taco dip ready, lasagne & breakfast casserole baked and in the freezer for the Dorband4, & some presents wrapped. That means that as soon as I get home today, I need to make frosting for tonight's freshman life group for cookie making/frosting. Hopefully I can get the carrots shredded for tomorrow.

So far this morning (by 6:30AM)...
Normal routine
+
made PB frosting & frosted Bri's cake
emptied and ran dishwasher
one load of laundry
a pot of iced tea
put the dishes away on the counter

Tomorrow, I have to make 2 double carrot cakes...

You know what I don't understand? I feel better than I felt last year, did my shopping on-line this year, I'm doing less (which means my list is 3 feet long instead of 5ft), why can't I seem to get it all done?

I can't wait for the week after Christmas, I am going to enjoy some much needed time off. Trying to decide if I will volunteer one day and that's the most I have planned...

Matt 11:28 "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

I started a tad earlier this year since we leave on our trip next week and I "lose" a whole week of Christmas preparation. And yet, I feel a litle frantic underneath wondering why i don't feel more relaxed. It suddenly dawned on me!

Several years ago, our best friend's daughter graduated from college and found a job. She was saving her money to move out on her own when her car bit the dust and she had to replace it. POOF! Gone was the money she had been setting aside. I told her that God knew she was going to have a need down the road and He had already provided the provision of money for it! She eventually moved out but it wasn't the time table she had envisioned.

Likewise, I have been setting aside "future" spare time, getting so much done ahead of time, so I can relax. God has placed several people in my life and certain situations that have required time on my part. Likewise, God knew that myself or someone else was going to have a need and He has already provided the provision of time to carry it out! I will eventually get my spare time, it just hasn't been the timetable I envisioned.

I am learning that availability is better than whatever commitments I lend my abilities to!

I read your post about your beautiful daughter and
"WELL DONE Mom!

I started early too and I must say I'm enjoying it so far. Hope you get to chill a bit soon!
