Thankful for love

I'm thankful for love.

If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing. If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing.
Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.
Prophecy and speaking in unknown languages and special knowledge will become useless. But love will last forever! Now our knowledge is partial and incomplete, and even the gift of prophecy reveals only part of the whole picture! But when the time of perfection comes, these partial things will become useless.
When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things. Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely.
Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love. (1 Corinthians 13:1-13 NLT)

When I hug you, you know you're loved. When you tell me something that hurts you, I want you to know that I love you so much that of I could take away all your pain, I would. I know that God has plans to use your pain for His glory. Because nothing happens without His permission.  He knows that there is no testimony without a test. I know there is no rainbow without rain. Whenever I see a rainbow I think of His promises. All of them. He said He would never leave us or forsake us. His promises are because he loves us. I'm thankful for that love more than I could ever say. There are moments that I don't like what's happening but I put my hands up knowing He reigns, He is God. I know He is good. I just don't always like it. But I love Him.

I'm thankful for love when it covers a wrong or a hurt.  When we put aside our own feelings for the love or to love someone else.  Love is big, and it covers a magnitude of hurts. We can do great things, we can tell people about Jesus but if we don't love them it doesn't mean a thing.

I learned that in love I am most beautiful. When I'm loving I'm the most beautiful. And seriously... who doesn't want to be beautiful?  I do!  When my heart is open I am most like Jesus and that is when I am most beautiful and I never saw it before.

I'm thankful for love so much when I'm alone love surrounds me. When I can come alongside people who need love. I think of all the things in my life I am most thankful for love. Life would be ugly without love. I couldn't breathe without love. I'd die without love. Even though loving involves risk, great huge risk, it worth it. Because of love, I'm the lucky one.

Go.be.love.

And be thankful
