It's not about you... it's about them...

Have you ever had someone cancel on you?

And I don’t mean like just a coffee, but when you were really looking forward to meeting with someone. And they cancel one day but they reschedule. Then the day comes, you put on your new favorite sweater, you’re excited, you may have even run a straightener through your hair in the morning…

And then half hour before you’re supposed to meet… they cancel. I get things come up… but sometimes it happens too many times to just overlook it.

It’s hard not to take it personal.

It’s hard for the “I’m not good enough song to stop playing in your head”

And then…

You remember something super important.

God doesn’t let things happen without His permission.

You know that He loves you enough to protect you from the things that you need protecting from. You know that He allows things in your love like the greatest love you’ve ever known, and He knows when you need protecting.

It’s also important to remember that God made you beautiful, but not everyone sees it.

It’s important to remember that…

You’re pretty (handsome if you’re a boy reading this)
You’re funny
You’re smart
You’re fancy (this may only apply to me)
You’re beautiful
You’re loved
And they probably didn’t deserve your fabulousness anyway…

I may or may not be speaking from personal experience…
