My bible!

It might seem so dumb to you… I don’t know but I lost my bible.  My favorite bible.  Maybe I have an attachment to worn out things because my bible is worn out, I’ve had pages fall out.  I was packing to go to Mexico and trying to decide if I should take it with such limited space (for real, I am a horrible packer!) and after all, the bible is on my phone.  So I decided that I wasn’t going to take it…  Before I left for Mexico things were a little crazy because we just got back from the winter retreat.  Needless to say, my house was a crazy mess!

So I went to Mexico, read my bible on my phone… but got home… and couldn’t find my bible.  Now, not to worry, I’ve literally got 10 at home…  so I just picked one up when I needed to actually get in the book but for the most part I use my phone.   As I kept looking (and literally tearing things apart)I got more and more distraught because I couldn’t find it.  WHAT ON EARTH HAPPENED TO IT?  Literally I asked people to pray that I find my bible.

I decided finally to just give up. And I found one of my other bibles and decided that I would make it my new favorite…  but it wasn’t the same… but I was making the best of it!

My favorite bible had pictures and notes… writing and prayer requests and answered prayers.  When our pastor would preach about something, I’d write notes in the margin. Underline my favorite verse.  I’ve spent hours praying and crying in that bible.  I’ve fallen more and more in love with the Creator of the Universe in my bible.  I’ve learned of His great love for me!

I even remember the first time I read Eph 3:20-21 and said "OHMYWORD!  That’s what Pastor Clark has been saying!  I thought he made it up!"

I was heart broken… but yesterday… it happened!  I opened a box, and there it was!  OHMYWORD! OHMYWORD!  I gasped in pure joy!  I LOVEYOU!!  I said “welcome home old friend!”  I even kissed it!  More than once.

I’m so happy! I love love love my bible and the beautiful written words in it… I’m even thankful for Leviticus!!!!  I know it’s “just a book” and I could always get a new one… but it was my favorite and I am thankful!

I completely get this. :) I have a favorite Bible too...which went missing shortly after I got married and moved...I didn't think I would ever find it...but one day, there it was, in a zippered compartment of a suitcase I rarely use. I was so happy!!! It was if a long-lost friend had returned. :)
