Intentionality

a few years back I started Margie Mail.  It was just some mail to some kids that I knew that I didn't want them to think I forgot about them since I couldn't see them on the regular.  Now, thinking back, it probably never occurred to them that I'd forget about them. And yet... here I am almost 5 years later... mailing mail.  A few families "aged out" lol and a few new families.  Kind of fun to see it evolve.  This year it will be international.  Goodness.

Also that year I started sending birthday cards.  I try to make sure that I get them out on time but nevertheless I have mailed them late more than once... but one thing I do is prep the envelopes as soon as I can. I buy cards when there is a really good deal on Current - I buy the cards in bulk and quite a few years I sent the same card to everyone.  Weird, right?  Well, it makes it easier to buy the cards that way and it's affordable because Lord Have Mercy the stamps are expensive!

I update the excel spreadsheet, mail merge labels, and then prep all the envelopes.  section them off by month so they are ready to go.

It's a lot.  I know.  I know I know.  But spending this time to do this, saves me time and helps me to be successful in getting the cards into the mailboxes of those I love.  I hope the recepients know they are loved and I take great care to make sure they know it.  I know how much a birthday card means to me when I get one.

I really work to be intentional about loving people. It's not always right but I do try.  It is my hope that in 2025 whether it's a card, a piece of mail, a hug, or a meal, that people know how much they are loved.
